Route delightes at the Pre Ride
On July 10, 2022, it will be “really steep” again in the most legendary sports town in the Alps at the 2nd edition of the Kitzbüheler Radmarathon. Most recently, a group of partners, sponsors and participants took a close look at parts of the 216-kilometer route including the new section during the pre-ride.
“This route has what it takes to become a real classic,” the participants agreed after the pre-ride. The slightly modified route in the Zillertal was also well received. Starting in Zell am Ziller, the 2nd edition on July 10 will return to the proven route via Rohr, Haslach, Aschau, Kaltenbach, Ried and Uderns. “An impressive loop in the beautiful mountain world of Tyrol,” enthused Wiesbauer managing director Thomas Schmiedbauer. “My favorite section is the legendary ascent to the Horn, which is currently being resurfaced,” commented Jürgen Kleinhappl, Gastronomic Manager of the Harisch Hotel Group. “The challenging course is fantastic and the transition zones for the relay competition are logistically very well laid out,” said Karl-Heinz Raab, sales manager at partner Gebrüder Weiss’ logistics center in Wels. Also Kitzbühel’s mayor Dr. Klaus Winkler swung himself into the saddle of the race: “Already at the second edition there is a big jump in registrations. This shows that the event is on a very good track.”
