From May 8, the road to Austria’s steepest cycling mountain will be open again.

#howsteepisyourlove. Starting May 8, 2025, the panoramic road to the Kitzbüheler Horn will once again be open to traffic. This 7.5-kilometer stretch, with a maximum gradient of 22%, is considered one of Austria’s steepest cycling routes. It is a popular destination for ambitious cyclists and serves as the finish line of the Kitzbüheler Radmarathon. The road leads directly to the Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn and will remain open daily until November 2, 2025.

For cyclists, the panoramic road offers both a special challenge and a true highlight. After the demanding ascent, athletes can reward themselves at the Alpenhaus with a small token of achievement: a cycling badge (“Radpickerl”).
