On September 8, 2024, over a thousand cyclists from near and far will once again line up at the start of the Kitzbüheler Radmarathon, ready to face the rigorous challenge around Kitzbühel.

The 4th edition of the Kitzbüheler Radmarathon will take place in Kitzbühel on September 8, 2024. Cyclists have 50 days left to eagerly anticipate this event, register, and prepare. Over a thousand athletes from various nations are expected again. New this year is the date, which moves the ultra-cycling marathon to the first week of September. This cycling marathon is a test of endurance for cyclists who, in addition to the sporting challenge, also want to enjoy the unique landscape around Kitzbühel.

Two Route Variants

In 2024, there will again be two route variants: KRM Classic and KRM Kitz. The course offers several highlights: Starting in the Vorderstadt of Kitzbühel, the route leads over Pass Thurn into Pinzgau to the Gerlos Bundesstraße. The course offers a wonderful view of the Großvenediger before climbing steeply on the old Alpine road of Gerlos. With two passes in the legs, the route continues into the Zillertal. The flat ride ends when it’s time to conquer the Kerschbaumer Saddle. This pass winds its way with its narrow and steep road into the Alpbach Valley. Once there, the route leads to Brixlegg, Kramsach, takes a demanding loop over Brandenberg, to Angerberg, and through the Brixental back to Kitzbühel. There, the course splits into two finish lines: Kitzbühel and Kitzbüheler Horn! With 216 kilometers and 4,600 meters of altitude, the KRM Classic route, finishing at Austria’s most famous and steepest cycling mountain, the Kitzbüheler Horn, is the crown jewel of the KRM. For those who want to gradually work up to this, the KRM Kitz offers a wonderful alternative with 209 kilometers and 3,800 meters of altitude, where applause awaits at the finish line in the beautiful Vorderstadt of Kitzbühel. Registration is open!

Coveted Mountain Classification

On the aforementioned five passes and mountains, climb times are also measured, and the King & Queen of the Mountains powered by Wiesbauer are sought. The ascent times of all climbs are added together, and the fastest of the mountain sections are determined. This category is sponsored and awarded by one of Austria’s most traditional companies and one of the biggest supporters of local cycling. It’s no surprise that the winners are awarded a Wiesbauer Giant Climber.
